Accenture Technology Vision - technology trends that will reshape business

Every year Accenture together with its network of experts take the effort to look into the future of technology, analyzing key developments across business and tech and forecasting trends that will reshape our world. This year’s Technology Vision Report takes us on a trip to the metaverse, a continuum of technology and experience, reshaping business...But what does it all mean? How will it impact the work of development teams and developers themselves? How does it relate to the cloud? In my talk I will introduce you to the tech trends presented in the Report and do my best to explain the concepts behind them. We will take a look at the examples and reflect on what challenges do they bring to us as developers. I will discuss the key areas described in this year’s Tech Vision, including:
  • the anticipation of a new Internet, which will emerge from the concepts of the Metaverse and Web3, in particular focusing on data privacy protection and new user experiences related to the Metaverse
  • the digital revolution of the physical world and the challenges around it, this includes a journey from IoT to building advanced data models and the challenge of providing advanced product customizations and individualization of production,
  • a synthetic reality created by the ever growing capabilites of AI, presenting the capability of synthetic characters, content created by AI and synthetic data,
  • and briefly looking into the topic of supercomputers, which are expanding our cognitive boundaries and taking human research to a completely new level.
If you are looking for inspiration and new areas for development, then it’s very likely you will find some in my talk. This talk will not be a presentation of the report, rather an attempt to discuss the content to inspire you to reflect on the current developments in technology and business and how it will impact the work of developers.
